Bunker Adjustment Factor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bunker Adjustment Factor ( BAF ) is the so-called bunker surcharge that is levied on the ocean freight of goods to be shipped across the sea. This surcharge was set up due to fluctuating oil prices .

The BAF is usually determined by the members of a shipping conference or by the shipper directly.

In the meantime it also happens with cruises that a bunker surcharge is levied.
