history

In the 1930s, the first tunnels were driven on the grounds of the Hermann Göring Aviation School . The entire facility was designed by Ernst Sagebiel and was not blown up by the Allies after the war. From 1943 to 1945 the coffin of Friedrich Wilhelm I was moved from the Potsdam garrison church to the bunker. It was empty until the 1960s. The group of the Soviet armed forces in Germany moved into the bunker system, expanded it (ABC system, radio system) and handed it over to the NVA . This she handed over to the Bundeswehr after reunification .
