A bunker loader is a mining loading and transport machine. It belongs to the trackless funds. Bunker loaders are mainly used in ore mining . They are particularly suitable for use with short conveyor distances and medium cross-sections in which truck loaders cannot be used.

construction

The bunker loader consists of the chassis, the loading shovel and the tipping body - the bunker.

There are compressed air-powered and (to a lesser extent) electric-powered bunker loaders. The connection to the compressed air line or the power supply limits the range of the bunker loader to the length of the connection hose or cable.

A compressed air motor, usually a piston motor, serves as the drive and lift motor. The drive motor (one per axle for larger bunker loaders) acts directly on the drive axle. The wheels have solid rubber tires. The lifting motor (usually a vane motor) acts like a track-bound throwing shovel loader on a link chain that lifts the loading shovel.

The trough is tilted with a compressed air cylinder. It has an automatically opening rear wall.

The control levers are on the side of the loader. A step is available for the tusks.

Alternatively, there can be variants with cable remote control. Except when tipping, the tusk is behind the loader.

Working method

The operation of the bunker loader corresponds to the load-haul-dump principle, with the limitation of the range due to the external energy supply.

The tiller drives the bunker loader with the loading shovel into the pile and transports the shovel filling into the bunker by operating the lifting motor. This is repeated until the bunker is full. The pile uptake is supported by multiple forward and backward movements as well as approaching the pile at an angle. Then he drives the bunker loader - backwards for short stretches - to the roller hole and tips the contents of the bunker into it.

The roller holes have collision protection, a cover grate or both.

history

The first bunker loaders were developed by Atlas-Copco in 1970 and marketed under the name Cavo. The bunker loaders manufactured in the GDR are very similar to the Cavos.
