The Burgbach waterfall near Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach in the Black Forest is one of the highest free falling waterfalls in Germany with a free fall height of 15 meters and a total height of 32 meters . The fall step is formed from resistant, silicified sandstones of the Upper Rotliegend ( Permian ), which lie over more easily weathered and clearable granites . The waterfall is classified as a geological natural monument . The Burgbach then flows with a steep gradient to the Wolf .
