Busenhof

The Busenhof is a listed building in Werdohl .

history

Group of pigs made of copper sheet

The naming is not clear. The farm is one of the three oldest farms in Werdohl and was called either Busen- or Bussenhof because of its hillside location, because in earlier times low hills were called “Busen” or “Bussen”. The attribution can also refer to the former owners, because a Buse or Busse family owned the inn.

architecture

Sculptures

The two-storey half-hipped eaves house with pan cover was built after the town fire of 1822 as a classicist town house. The plastered facade of the inn has a classicist door frame with a double-leaf coffered door with so-called "a-jour grids".

A group of pigs made of sheet copper by the Plettenberg artists Peter Klassen and Sven Klassen has been standing next to the inn since 1992. There are also two bronze sculptures by the artist Uwe Pfannschmidt in front of the Busenhof.
