The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) (French: Banque de Développement du Canada) is a state-owned banking institution owned by the government of Canada. The company's headquarters are in Montreal . The bank's focus is on infrastructure financing as well as financing solutions for business start-ups, further financing, advice for small and medium-sized companies. The company has 100 branches in Germany, looks after over 28,000 customers and employs around 1,950 people.

history

In September 1944, the Industrial Development Bank (IDB) was established as part of the Bank of Canada. In the first few years, the bank's main task was to financially support smaller industrial companies in converting from military products to civilian production after the end of the Second World War.
