Cúil Aodha
Cúil Aodha [ ˌkˠuːlʲ ˈeː ] ( Anglicized Coolea ) is a village and townland in the valley of the River An Sulán (Anglicized Sullane River ) in western County Cork , Ireland . It is in the Gaeltacht of Múscraí Thiar (Anglicised West Muskerry ). As in neighboring Baile Bhuirne, the colloquial language is the Munster dialect of Irish . Therefore, only the Irish name Cúil Aodha has official status.
The Irish composer Seán Ó Riada lived in Cúil Aodha from 1964 until his death. He founded the men's choir Cór Chúil Aodha , which is now directed by his son Peadar Ó Riada.
In and around Cúil Aodha, Coolea cheese is made in the Gouda style .
