CD + G
The CD + G or CD-G ( CD ± Graphics ) is a technical process as well as a standard format for such audio CDs , which can also record or contain data such as song texts and / or pictures that are simultaneously with the music on a screen can be represented.

In practice, this format is mainly used for karaoke CDs (music + graphic texts). An extended form is the CD + Extended Graphics . Both variants are defined in the Red Book standard for audio CDs.
A corresponding playback device or an additional adapter is required for playback:
- A special CD + G or karaoke player
- Some standalone DVD players can play CD + G
- PC with software player for CD + G; however, not all CD / DVD drives can read CD + G
- Sega Saturn , Sega Mega-CD , Panasonic / Goldstar 3DO , NEC FX, NEC PC Engine Duo, Atari Jaguar CD, Philips CD-i and Commodore CDTV CD³²
- In a normal CD player, a CD + G can be played like an audio CD (only sound)
