CIB pdf brewer is a computer program from CIB software GmbH for creating, editing and merging PDF documents from any application under Windows operating systems.

Range of functions

The program installs itself as a printer driver and is either integrated with its own button in the function bar of Microsoft Office from Microsoft Office 2007 or can be integrated into the start or context menu in order to convert a document into PDF format without having to start an application program. In the free version, the software offers functions such as PDF file size optimization, the merging of several PDF documents as well as the loss-free reprocessing of PDF documents with Microsoft Word using the Hybrid PDF output format. The software also includes u. a. the insertion of bookmarks and digital watermarks , a stationery function, the manual setting of image resolutions and image compression, supports the output formats PDF / A for long-term archiving of documents and the output format PDF / UA for the creation of barrier-free PDF documents. The creation of electronic invoices according to the ZUGFeRD standard 1.0 and 2.1 is supported.

history

Originally, the CIB pdf brewer was part of the document lifecycle management software solution CIB CoMod. Due to the increased market demand for PDF converters that can be integrated into Microsoft Office applications, the product has been independently marketed and further developed since 2003. The first release of the printer driver under version 1.0 (32 bit) took place in 2003 and was designed for the Windows NT4, 2000, XP, Server 2003 operating systems. The current version 3.1.2 exists as a 64-bit version and has Windows 7/8/10 certification from Microsoft ( WHQL ).
