CIHT-FM (known as Hot 89.9 FM ) is an English language private radio broadcaster based in Ottawa , Canada . The station broadcasts current charts in the contemporary hit radio format with an output of 27 kW on the frequency 89.9 MHz . The station is operated by Newcap Broadcasting and serves Ottawa and the surrounding area. The program is also broadcast on the Internet and fed into the digital cable network of several cable network operators.

history

The station received its broadcasting license from the Canadian Radio and Television Commission in 2001. Initially, a dance format was broadcast under the station name The Planet . From February 7, 2003, the broadcast format was changed to the current CHR format. It is Newcap Broadcasting's largest broadcaster . The broadcaster produces the Canadian Hit 30 Countdown program locally . Which is presented every week by the team of moderators Mauler and Rush.
