CKBY-FM (Country 101.1 - Today's Best Country) is a private radio broadcaster from Smiths Falls , Canada , which primarily broadcasts the latest country music charts on the FM frequency 101.1 with 100 kW. The transmitter thus supplies Ottawa as well as the surrounding cities. In addition, the broadcast program is broadcast over the digital broadband network on cable TV as well as over the Internet. The analogue program will thus be broadcast in Smith Falls and Ottawa . The station has been operated by Rogers Media since 1999 .

history

In 1969 the station was founded and began broadcasting originally under the name CJET-FM. In early 1970 the callsign was changed to CKUE. In 1984 the station was taken over by CHEZ-FM Inc. In 1999, Rogers Media took over all of the CHEZ-Group's stations. On January 9, 2004, Rogers Media changed the format of the station and renamed it CKBY Y101 FM. Since June 28, 2013 at 3 p.m., the station has been given a new brand name and has been called Country 101.1 FM since then . The transmission format was retained.
