CNC 600
The numerics CNC-600 is a control series from VEB Numerik Karl-Marx Stadt .
Equipment and versions
The version 600-1 was used in many CNC machines in the GDR from the beginning of the 80s. With a displayed resolution of 0.001 mm or 0.001 °, it could control up to 5 axes as a path control with a rapid traverse speed of 20 m / min. Application she found all of lathes , jig borers and milling machines .
In this version it was possible to manage several tools. It also had a separate memory for main and sub-programs. The maximum program size was dependent on the number of connected axes. The programming was done using a command syntax that corresponded to the Sinumerik control and thus made this control attractive for the export market. A perforated tape reader was built into the control unit as a storage medium for programs and tool tables . An external tape punch had to be connected to save the programs. The main disadvantage of this control was that subroutines could be created but no longer edited. The tool management can be seen as a further special feature. Here the tool offset data were assigned to the respective programs in the NC memory. Only the magazine or turret assignment was stored globally (across programs).
With the version 600-3, these were expanded by a few functions so that loader systems, as is usual on production cells, could also be operated directly by this control. For this purpose, additional controls were integrated into the operator console. In addition, the program memory was enlarged. In terms of technology, this control was on a par with western models such as Siemens, Dialog and Philips models.
