CNN-IBN is an English language Indian TV news station.
The station is a partnership of Global Broadcast News and Turner Broadcasting System (Turner) in India (a division of Time Warner ). Rajdeep Sardesai is the head of the station. Indian company GBN operates the station entirely, but uses the company name CNN in return for Time Warner's 26 percent stake.
The transmitter broadcasts 24 hours a day. The program is similar to that of CNN in the United States with breaking news talks and news coverage. The flagship of the evening program is India at 9, which is normally also broadcast on CNN Pipeline , although it is not simulcast , with the exception of breaking news such as the Mumbai bombings in 2006 and the November 26, 2008 attacks in Mumbai . It is one of the first news channels in India to have the concept of journalism by viewers as any person can contribute.
