CSQ process

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The CSQ process (Coke Stabilizing Quenching) is a sub-step in the production of coke in a coking plant .

General

After the cooked coke is pressed hot from the coke oven battery, it must be prevented from burning in the air at the high temperatures. It is extinguished and cooled down as quickly as possible. This can be done dry, usually with the help of nitrogen as an inert gas , or with the help of water .

advantages

The CSQ process is wet coke cooling that causes only a low level of dust exposure during quenching (rapid cooling).
