Cabo Catoche

Cabo Catoche (also Cape Catoche , Mayathan : Ekab K'otoch ) is a cape at the extreme tip of Mexico's Yucatán peninsula . The island is located 50 km north of Cancun .

The island was the first European landing point on what is now Mexican territory in 1517, headed by Francisco Hernández de Córdoba .
