preparation

The cachapa is a typical dish in Venezuela . It is of Indian origin. It is made from yellow corn that is ground and mixed with milk or water, eggs, sugar, salt, and oil until it turns into a batter. It is usually cooked on flat iron plates (budares). You can eat the cachapas alone or together with butter, cheese or with many other combinations (e.g. guasacaca sauce, salad made from tomatoes and avocados). It is eaten at all times.

There are many restaurants in the country that specialize in cachapas.
