Architecture and history

The large two-storey stately town house dates back to the Middle Ages and has been fundamentally rebuilt several times. The 15th to 17th century is given as the time of origin. The main entrance, designed as a round arch portal, is on the north side. It is adorned with the coat of arms of the Marquis von Bellpuig and the Jacobean cross . Another entrance is from Trespolet Square . A third portal is walled up and originally led into the garden of the house, which was surrounded by a large wall. Several entrances led through the wall to the horses and wagons. Due to feuds of the nobility in the 17th century, the walls were reinforced to give them a defensive character.

The building was owned by the Marquise von Bellpuig. With the building, the influential Mallorcan aristocratic family demonstrated their economic and social importance. The roof is held in place by large consoles. The house's large balconies are remarkable.
