Calva Y Nada

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Calva Y Nada was a German music project that was launched in 1990. The head and founder of the project was Constantin Warter alias Breñal .
He was supported live by Martin “Tessi” Tessarek (keyboards 1991–1993), Tom “Le Puce” Steinseifer (drums 1991–1993) and Peter Augustat (bass 1992). These were later replaced by keyboardist Stefan Müter (also Cyan Kills E. Coli ).

Calva Y Nada had live appearances at the premiere of the Woodstage Summer Open Air in 1995 and the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in 1998.

A new edition of the albums with changed artwork has been taking place on the Emmo.biz label since 2013.

Music genre

The style of Calva Y Nada can be assigned to the electronics / avant-garde environment of the 1990s. In addition to German-language texts, mainly Spanish-language songs are performed. The male vocals sound distorted and gloomy, but the voice is not changed by electronic effects devices such as distortion or vocoders .

Origin of name

The name is the Spanish translation of "bald head and nothing". "Bald" is an allusion to the former previous project Baldness of Will , the second part of the name comes from the book "Das Sein und das Nothing" by Jean-Paul Sartre .
