Camdeboo was a municipality ( Local Municipality ) in the Sarah Baartman District (formerly Cacadu), Eastern Cape Province in South Africa . 50,993 inhabitants lived on an area of 7,230 km² (as of 2011). The seat of the municipal administration was Graaff-Reinet .

In 2016 the municipality became part of the newly formed municipality Dr Beyers Naudé , whose administrative seat is also Graaff-Reinet.

The community name Camdeboo is derived from a phonetically similar Khoikhoi word for "green valley". Hendrik Swellengrebel described the area in 1776 as: "a triangular piece of land bounded in the north by a rock wall, in the south by stony, tree-covered hills, on the other side lies Aberdeen and the tip of the triangle at Bruintjieshoogte".
