Camp Doha

Camp Doha is a former free port area , adjacent to Kuwait City to the northwest , directly on the Persian Gulf. It covers an area of ​​approx. 2 × 3 km. It has served as the central logistical base of the US armed forces in the Middle East since the Second Gulf War (1991) .

From the beginning of 2002, Camp Doha housed the staff and some forces of the Combined Joint Task Force Consequence Management (CJTF CM), a multinational task force under US command. The German NBC defense battalion Kuwait , which belongs to the CJTF CM , was also stationed in Camp Doha from February 2002 to June 2003.

During the Iraq war in March / April 2003, Camp Doha served the responsible American regional command ( US Central Command / USCENTCOM) as a logistical hub and quarters for operational command centers (Joint Operation Center): Coalition Forces Land Component Command (CFLCC).
