Canada Place is a striking building in the center of the Canadian city ​​of Vancouver , on the banks of Burrard Inlet . It houses the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Center , the Pan Pacific Hotel and the world's first IMAX cinema . It is also the landing stage for most of the cruise ships departing from Vancouver .

Built by architect Eberhard Zeidler as the Canadian pavilion for Expo 86 , Canada Place was the only part of this world exhibition that was not located on the exhibition grounds on the north bank of False Creek .

A section of the 18,078 km long Trans Canada Trail passes Canada Place.
