Cani ( Arabic القاني, DMG al-Qānī ) refers to a group of islands off the Tunisian northeast coast in the Mediterranean Sea . Administratively it belongs to the Tunisian government of Bizerte .
The archipelago is about 25 km northeast of the port town of Bizerte and 10 km north-northeast of Cap Zebib , not far from the town of Metline . It consists of the larger, 400 m long and up to 20 m high Grande Cani (8.2 hectares) and the smaller, around 100 m long and up to 18 m high Petite Cani (1.2 hectares). There has been a 21 m high lighthouse on Grande Cani since 1894.
