Caper

Caper ( C ollaborative Information A cquisition P rocessing E xploitation and R eporting) is a European project, which is to try through the analysis of open and private data sources to organized crime prevention.

For this purpose, data from public sources such as social networks and results from search engines are to be evaluated and made available to the responsible executives . In addition to private companies, authorities and a Fraunhofer research institute are also involved in the development of Caper. The Fraunhofer Institute is working on a system for image recognition and the visualization of the collected data.

The project, which started on July 1st, 2011, is designed for a three-year development period and is supported by the European Commission with up to 7.1 million euros.
