Caramell is a Swedish Eurodance group. The band consists of the two singers Malin and Katia as well as the producers Jorge "Vasco" Vasconcelo and Juha "Millboy" Myllylä.

Band history

The group became known through the Internet phenomenon Caramelldansen , a repeating Flash animation that shows the characters Mai and Mii from the opening video of the Japanese eroge - Ren'ai adventure Popotan . The animation includes an accelerated version of the song Caramelldansen from Caramell's Supergott album. Started as an internet phenomenon, the popular Caramelldansen animation was copied with characters from various anime and video game series, among other things .

The song's popularity peaked towards the end of 2007 and in the spring of 2008 led to a re-release of an accelerated version of the album Supergott in Japan, followed by two single releases. There the single Caramelldansen first reached number 1 in the international charts and shortly afterwards number 16 in the combined charts of international and national publications. Her single Om du var min reached number 7 in the official Swedish charts.

The band split in 2002 and have not released any new songs since. However, the old songs were re-released in 2008 in Japan, Sweden, the Netherlands and Great Britain, among others.
