Carbuncle Ditch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Carbuncle Ditch is an underground watercourse in the London Borough of Haringey . The watercourse was created in the 15th century to reduce the risk of flooding of the River Mosselle . Originally known as The Garbell , it changed name in the 19th century.

It branches off at Scotland Green from the River Mosselle and runs in an easterly direction to its confluence with Pymme's Brook . The watercourse was partially buried underground in 1906, but the installation was not complete until after the end of World War II . The Carbuncle Passage marks its course today.
