Carl Cloos welding technology is a supplier of welding technology products based in Haiger . The company develops and produces welding equipment for manual and automated applications as well as systems for automated welding and cutting.

history

Carl Cloos welding technology was founded in 1919 by Carl Cloos in Siegen-Weidenau and initially manufactured acetylene generators and oxy-fuel welding torches . Five years later the headquarters were moved to Haiger. After the war, the company developed various welding technology products such as complete welding systems and, from the 1970s, began to focus increasingly on robot welding. From 1981 Carl Cloos welding technology produced its own industrial robots and sold them under the name "Romat". Today both welding machines for manual operation and complete robot cells and systems are manufactured. Cloos has been selling its welding power sources under the name Qineo since 2008 and in 2010 the robot technology was brought onto the market under the name Qirox.

In its history, Cloos has played a key role in the development of welding processes and welding technology. In 1996, for example, Cloos brought the tandem welding process, a further development of double-wire welding, onto the market. Welding is carried out simultaneously with two welding electrodes and two independent and synchronized welding systems.

In 2019, Cloos was taken over by the Chinese company Estun Automation for 196 million euros.

In 2020, Cloos has 513 employees. Cloos has 16 subsidiaries abroad and 37 trading partners in Europe and the world.
