Carl Sagan Memorial Award
Named after the American astronomer, astrophysicist, exobiologist, television presenter, non-fiction author and writer Carl Sagan (1934–1996), the Carl Sagan Memorial Award from the American Astronautical Society and The Planetary Society is given in recognition of a leadership role in the exploration of the cosmos Assigned to a person or group.
It should not be confused with the American Astronomical Society's Carl Sagan Medal for Excellence in Public Communication in Planetary Science .
