Carlos González Ferrer (born June 15, 1972 in Mexico City ) is a former Mexican professional boxer and two-time WBO light welterweight world champion.
Career
He started professional boxing in 1988 and won 36 fights in a row, 34 of them prematurely. In June 1992 he won the vacant WBO world light welterweight championship prematurely against Jimmy Paul . He defended the title against Lorenzo Smith, Rafael Ortiz and Tony Baltazar before losing to Zack Padilla on points in June 1993 . After ten subsequent fights with nine wins, he boxed in June 1996 for the WBO world title draw against Giovanni Parisi . However, he won the title in the rematch against Parisi in May 1998. In the first defense of the title, he was knocked out in May 1999 by Randall Bailey in the first round.
After eleven more fights with only seven wins, he ended his career in May 2005.
