Carlos Reyles is a town in the center of Uruguay . It was named in 1938 after the Uruguayan narrator, essayist and agricultural politician Carlos Reyles (1868–1938) and his father of the same name, a large landowner who founded it at the end of the 19th century.

geography

It is located in the Durazno department in sector 12 . It is about halfway between the departmental capital Durazno in the south and Centenario in the north. It is connected to these cities via the Ruta 5 which runs through the town . The area south of Carlos Reyles is known as the Cuchilla del Rincón , while the Cuchilla Quinteros is to the northwest . The Arroyo de los Molles and the Arroyo de Caballero have their source in the local area .

On August 16, 1939, Carlos Reyles was granted Pueblo status by Law No. 9,860 .
