Carnival (folk festival)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A carnival is the US-American version of an amusement park that moves from place to place , whose rides and stands all belong to a single owner or owner company, in contrast to the German fair, where the shops are usually run by different independent showmen . Unlike many European fairs, the carnival is usually not linked to religious festivals.

Carnivals emerged in the 19th century and have been displaced more and more by stationary amusement parks since the second half of the 20th century . The organization of an American carnival is similar to that of a traveling circus .

Carnival is also the English term for carnival , but in the United States itself it is mostly used with the above meaning. The term traveling carnival is often used to distinguish it from other word meanings .
