Cash (debit card)

CASH was the Swiss electronic wallet introduced in 1996 , which could be used in brick-and-mortar retail for simple payments of smaller amounts of up to 300 francs . A CASH chip was found on all 4.1 million (as of 2006) Swiss Maestro cards .

Since September 1, 2010, new Maestro cards no longer have a CASH function; Neutral CASH cards were available as a replacement. The service was discontinued on December 31, 2013.

The Geldkarte is comparable in Germany and Quick in Austria .
