Casio 9860G series
The 9860G is a graphing calculator from the Casio brand . In contrast to its predecessors, it has a USB connection for data exchange, a flash memory , an expandable operating system and an LC screen with increased contrast.
Versions
There are different versions of the fx-9860G: the standard version, the SD version as well as the AU and the slim version:
- The AU version limits the size of the built-in flash memory to 800 KiB in order to comply with Australian school laws.
- The SD version offers a slot for SD memory cards to expand the internal memory by up to two gigabytes .
- The slim version (German: slim version ) has an illuminated display, a built-in help function and is much smaller due to their hinged construction than the other versions.
Casio fx-9860GII
The new versions of the fx-9860G have been available since May 2009: the fx-9860GII (optionally also as SD version) offers a simplified user interface and an illuminated display. They support more math functions and come with a pre-installed geometry application.
programming
The calculators can be programmed in different ways. The fx-9860G supports the CASIO BASIC programming language .
The other method is to create an "add-in", that is, binary programs that are executed directly on the computer processor. Casio has released two official add-ins, Geometry and PHYSIUM. With the geometry add-in you can draw and design geometric shapes and calculate and measure geometric values from the constructions you have drawn yourself. With the PHYSIUM add-in you can see the periodic table of the chemical elements and display many fundamental physical constants .
In 2007, Casio released an SDK that enables users to write their own add-ins. However, these are not supported by Casio customer service. Add-ins and the SDK are available for registered users on the Casio website.
