Castinus
Castinus ( Greek : Kastinos) († 237 ) was bishop of Byzantion from 230–237 .
Castinus came from Rome and was originally a pagan . The Bishop of Byzantium , Cyriacus I , then converted him to Christianity . Castinus became his successor in the episcopate. The episcopal church of Byzantium was then in Galata ; During his time in office, Castinus had a church built within the city walls of Byzantium, which is later dedicated to Saint Euphemia . Castinus' successor was Eugenius I.
In Nikephoros Kallistos Castinus "Constantinus" is called, possibly there is a confusion of names.
