Catholics for a Free Choice

Catholics for a Free Choice ( CFC ) is an American civil rights organization based in Washington, DC, independent of the Roman Catholic Church

The organization advocates the right to abortion for women in the United States. The CFC was founded in 1973. 1984 turned the organization displaying A Catholic Statement on Pluralism and Abortion in the New York Times .

The current President of the CFC is Jon O'Brien. Frances Kissling led the organization as president for 25 years . The CFC model led to similar start-ups in South America, Canada and Europe, for example in Great Britain.
