Catra Streaming Platform

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Catra Streaming Platform is a software package that consists of an open source streaming server, a graphics interface and a range of tools for managing the MP4 files.

Architecture and services

The architecture is based on a number of 3GPP standard protocols as well as the Internet protocols RTSP , RTP / RTCP and SDP .

The streaming server supports the ISMA standard and can supply any streaming client that supports this standard (e.g. 3GPP players from Philips , MPEG4IP ISMA players and most players on UMTS terminals). AAC , GSM AMR and WBAMR can be used as audio codecs , and MPEG-4 and H.263 as video codecs .

The proprietary clients from Microsoft and Real do not support these open standards or do not support them correctly.
