history

In 1998, the development of the real-time strategy game Shock Troops began. After an agreement with the German developer Blue Byte , the project was renamed and part of the series Battle Isle under the title The Andosia Conflict . The game was based on the crap engine that Cauldron developed himself.

In 2000, another engine, the Cloak Engine, was developed. A year later, new features were added and the name was changed to CloakNT Engine, making it one of the best engines on the market today, according to the company. To date, eight games have been developed, seven of which have also been published in Germany.

In particular, Chaser , which appeared in 2003, was praised by the press and was particularly impressive with its story, atmosphere and atmospheric music from the pen of Cauldron composer Juraj Karkuš. On January 17th, 2006, all soundtracks were released and can be downloaded from the company's website.

On June 28, 2007, the rumor was confirmed that Cauldron was developing the third installment in the Soldier of Fortune series. It is now known, however, that other teams under the Activision banner were also involved in the project in the initial phase of development. So also Raven Software , which is responsible for the predecessor. The game, titled Soldier of Fortune: Payback , was officially released on November 13, 2007 for Windows , PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 . For the German-speaking area, a considerably softened version should appear in early 2008. To date, Activision has not published any. The US version has been placed on the index by the Federal Testing Agency for Media Harmful to Young Persons (BPjM) .
