Cavus (adjective from Latin Cavum : sheath, hollow) means "enveloping, encompassing, arched inward". Plural: Cavi .

In astrogeology , the term Cavus is used for an irregular, steeply sloping depression that was not created by an impact .

Structures called Cavi exist on Mars and Triton .
