Johann Junglas

Johann (es) "Hans" Junglas (born February 12, 1898 in Wirfus , † November 8, 1963 in Koblenz ) was a German politician ( center , later CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, Junglas completed an apprenticeship as a gardener in Koblenz, which he completed with the assistant test. Then he practiced the profession of gardener. From 1920 he worked as a secretary for the Christian trade unions (agricultural workers' association and professional association of German stone workers) in Koblenz, Trier , Limburg an der Lahn and Mayen . In 1933 he was dismissed for political reasons. During the time of National Socialism Junglas worked in the private sector and was employed as an office worker in Koblenz. From 1940 to 1946 he worked as an administrative clerk at the Koblenz employment office.

Political party

During the Weimar Republic , Junglas was a member of the Center Party. After the Second World War he was one of the co-founders of the Christian Democratic Party (CDP) in Koblenz, which was merged into the Rhineland-Palatinate state association of the CDU in 1947.

MP

Before 1933, Junglas was a councilor for the city of Koblenz and a member of the Mayen district council . He was also a member of the provincial parliament of the Rhine Province .

In 1945/46 Junglas was a member of the City Council of Koblenz. In 1946/47 he was a member of the Advisory State Assembly of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate and then until 1951 of the Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag . In the first federal election in 1949 he was elected to the German Bundestag , to which he belonged until 1953. In parliament he represented the constituency of Ahrweiler .

Public offices

Junglas served from December 1, 1946 to June 13, 1947 as Minister of Health and Welfare in the provisional government of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate led by Prime Minister Wilhelm Boden . He then took over the provisional management of the Ministries for Welfare, Reconstruction and Labor . From July 9, 1947 to December 14, 1949 he was again Minister for Health and Welfare in the subsequent government led by Prime Minister Peter Altmeier .

Junglas was from 1951 until his death in 1963, first as a ministerial director (from September 1953) and since January 1956 in the function of state secretary, deputy to the Rhineland-Palatinate Minister of Social Affairs.
