Ursula Hansen (politician)

Ursula Hansen (born July 9, 1935 in Dillingen / Saar ) is a German doctor and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from the State High School for Girls in Saarlouis Hansen took a degree in medicine at the University of Saarland in Homburg on that in 1961 with the state examination and the graduation to the Dr. med. finished. She then worked as a general practitioner in the Prüm District Hospital , had a part-time job at the Prüm Health Department and became a member of the Trier District Medical Association .

Furthermore, Hansen was involved in the Catholic Church. She was first elected Vice President in 1983 and finally President of the Catholic German Women's Federation (KDFB) in 1991 .

Political party

Hansen has been a member of the CDU since 1970. She had been chairwoman of the women's union in Prüm since 1979 , later took on the same office in Trier and was elected deputy chairwoman of the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate in the 1980s .

MPs

Hansen was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 1987 to 1991 .

Public offices

On May 23, 1985, Hansen was appointed Minister for Social Affairs and Family to the government of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate led by Prime Minister Bernhard Vogel and was also a member of the subsequent government led by Prime Minister Carl-Ludwig Wagner . In the course of a cabinet reshuffle, she left the government on June 21, 1990 and was replaced by Ursula Funke in her ministerial office .
