Celer (Eques)
Celer was a Roman knight who was executed under Emperor Domitian around 91 AD .
Celer was accused of unchastity ( Crimen incesti ) with a vestal virgin and found guilty according to sacral law in a procedure chaired by the princeps , in his exercise of office as supreme priest ( pontifex maximus ) .
After also sentenced to death Cornelia buried alive had been Celer was on the traditionally Comitium with a flagrum to death scourged .
