Celesc ( Centrais Eletrica de Santa Catarina SA ) is an energy supply company for the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina . The company's headquarters are in Florianópolis . The company is listed in the IBOVESPA financial index .

Celesc has been offering electricity in southern Brazil in the state of Santa Catarina since 1955. In 2004 Celesc had around 1.8 million customers and produced around 12.9 TWh of electricity. The company owns twelve hydropower plants. More than half of the company's shares are in government hands, the rest are traded on the stock exchange.

In October 2006 the company was transferred to the holding company Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina , the business areas were divided into distribution (Celesc Distribuição) and energy production (Celesc Geração) by founding two new companies.
