Centennial Challenges Program

The Centennial Challenges program of NASA is an initiative of the Exploration Systems Mission Directorate (ESMD) , the touting regular competitions with prize money to various aerospace problems. This is intended to address private development teams outside of NASA's traditional work context. The successful Ansari X-Prize inspired the space agency to start its own competitions in order to find innovative solutions to technical problems.
