Centerra Gold Inc. is a gold mining company based in Toronto , Ontario , Canada .

The company was founded in 2004 when Cameco Corporation brought its gold activities, which were combined in the subsidiary Cameco Gold, to the Toronto Stock Exchange ( TSX : CG) under the name Centerra Gold . At the end of 2009 Comeco sold its last shares in Centerra Gold.

Centerra operated two gold-producing mines in 2014: Kumtor in Kyrgyzstan and Boroo in Mongolia . Exploration for gold has been undertaken at the Gatsuurt, Mongolia, Oksut, Turkey and Canada deposits .
