Cesare Barlacchi
Cesare Barlacchi was an Italian opera and film director .
Life
Barlacchi was first known as a stage director of lyrical operas, who achieved success especially in the second half of the 1930s and turned to film directing for some time after the Second World War . He had directed documentaries as early as the 1940s; In 1946 he made the first feature film, which was followed by four more in the following decade. Here, too, he remained attached to his previous profession. He also wrote the script for a total of three. They all remained failures and only received regional distribution. In 1969 he was still active as a stage producer of operas, for example in a production of Saverio Mercadante's La vestale .
