The Chōzen-ji ( Japanese 長 禅寺 ) is a temple in the Japanese city of Kōfu in Yamanashi Prefecture . He belongs to the Kofu Gozan , a group of five Buddhist temples of the Rinzai-shū , which Takeda Shingen rebuilt in the Sengoku period or relocated from the surrounding province to Kofu to promote its administrative seat.

The temple was originally located in Ayuzawa in what is now the Minami-Alps and was the family temple of Shingen's mother. After she died he moved the temple to its current location near his capital. The former temple in Ayuzawa is now called Kochōzen-ji ( 古 長 禅寺 , "old Chōzen-ji").
