Chairperson (TZI)

Chairperson (also "chairman") is a term from the topic-centered interaction (TCI). Chairperson means that each group member is responsible for himself and thus for the course of the group process. A differentiated self-perception and a conscious perception of the group processes are required. So that the group member can successfully bring his wishes into the group process.

“Be your own chairperson” is a postulate of the TZI, introduced by the founder Ruth Cohn . Originally the word chairman was used, which in the context of the gender debate changed into the term chairperson .
