The Chamundeshwari Temple is a Hindu temple in Mysore .

The temple is located on the Chamundi Hills , three kilometers southeast of the city center. The temple is named after Chamunda . The structure was erected in the 12th century, probably by the rulers of the Hoysala Empire. The tower of the building was erected in the 17th century by the rulers of the Vijayanagar Empire. In 1659 a staircase was built to the top of the Chamundi Hills. There are several representations of Nandi on the temple. Not far from the temple is a larger granite nandi.
