Chaosium is an American game publisher founded in 1975 with a focus on pen & paper role and board games . Chaosium moved and relocated games such as RuneQuest , Stormbringer , Call of Cthulhu (CoC), and Arkham Horror . The company was founded by Greg Stafford as a self-publisher for his board game White Bear & Red Moon .

Origins Awards

Chaosium has received the Origins Award several times . In 1987 it received the Origins Award for Board Games for Arkham Horror in the category "Best Science Fiction or Fantasy Board Game". In 1996 the Origins Award for card games for the TCG myth ( "Best Card Game"). The company received the Origins Award for role-playing games in the category "Best role-playing system" in 1981 for CoC and in 1990 for King Arthur Pendragon (3rd edition). Chaosium received a total of 15 awards in the other role-playing categories. CoC was also inducted into the “Hall of Fame”.
