Batch production

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The batch production is a special form of the sort manufacturing . One speaks of batch production when different results are achieved with the same material input due to conditions in the production process that cannot be influenced ( e.g. ceramic kiln ). The respective material input is then referred to as a batch (see also: batch production ).

The different varieties come about because the production processes are not fully controllable. Examples can be found in steel production, in winemaking or, to a minor extent, in pharmacy.
