Charleston Museum

The Charleston Museum is a museum in Charleston , South Carolina .

The museum was founded in 1773, making it the oldest museum in America. It was opened to the public in 1824. It is located in the Downtown Historic District of Charleston .

Exhibits on natural history and the local history of Charleston are shown in the museum building. The museum also manages two other historically furnished buildings:
